Malindi is 20 km away and Mombasa Airport 125 km with a transfer time of about 2h30. Jacaranda Bay stretches for about 9 km and is part of the Watamu Marine Reserve. The play of the tides causes small atolls known as 'Sardinia 2' to emerge. Beach & PoolsThe hotel is located within the Watamu and Malindi Marine Park area, directly on the beach of Jacaranda Bay. It is described as one of the most beautiful beaches in Africa, stretching 9 kilometres to the fishing village of Mayungu. The effect of the tides creates coral sand atolls, known as Sardinia 2, which are popular excursion destinations.A few hundred metres from Jumbo, you can find several chiringuitos and water sports centres, such as kite surfing. Our private beach, with a 90-metre beachfront area, is equipped with sun loungers and natural shady areas created by palm trees.The Jumbo has three seawater pools and two large Jacuzzis; from one of the pools you can directly access the beach.All the pools are surrounded by sunbathing areas with sun loungers and shaded corners. The main pool overlooks the private beach and measures over 220 square metres. It includes two smaller pools for children. For children from 4 to 12 years old, our Kids Club offers play activities in dedicated areas, in the pool and on the beach organised and supervised by our specialised staff.USEFUL INFORMATION for the destinationA passport is required, with a residual validity of at least six months at the time of the visa request.From 1st (1) January 2024, the Government of Kenya has announced that a visa will no longer be required: however, it will be necessary to obtain an entry authorization (eTA) before starting your journey by registering on the website www.etakenya.go.kePlease note that all requests completed on a site other than the one indicated above will be automatically rejected.After making the payment of approximately 30 Euros, three (3) working days are expected for release.The eTA will be valid for one (1) trip only and can be requested up to three (3) months before the scheduled departure date.Once approval has been obtained, the copy of the same (in paper, digital or app version) must be presented at the point of departure and, upon arrival in Kenya, at the border control. However, if the request is refused, it will not be possible to carry out the trip.Since this obligation also exists for minors, families are invited to register as a group.In case of frequent trips, through the "Kenya Travel Authorization" app, you avoid entering data every time you decide to undertake a trip.Those in possession of a visa obtained under the previous system will be exempt from registering again: visas already issued will, in fact, also be valid in 2024.
