Location

The Jacaranda Beach Resort, inaugurated in 2003 as the first property in the area also known as Sardegna Due, remains the most renowned complex on Jacaranda Beach to this day. It has 118 rooms, recently renovated or completely new, diversified spaces and services, and 90 meters of private beach facing the sea. The property overlooks ten kilometres of unspoiled coastline, opposite two Marine Parks, offering an authentic holiday surrounded by nature. The large makuti roofs of the reception and panoramic restaurant alternate with the white of the Arab-style buildings, creating a harmonious combination with gardens and beach. The Jacaranda is among the few hotels in Kenya with rooms so close to the Indian Ocean. The Watamu area, which means “sweet people” in Swahili, offers many recreational options, both day and night, including restaurants, ice cream parlors, and pizzerias, with Italian cuisine and the freshest seafood.

Beach

The name of the Resort is inspired by this beautiful beach of 10 km of sand, located between Watamu and Malindi. Declared the most beautiful in Kenya and known as Sardinia Two, today the area is also home to several beach clubs and chiringuitos with a modest impact on the magnificent scenery of tidal coral atolls, seabirds, and coastal vegetation, in a pristine environment protected by the Marine National Park. Jacaranda Beach Resort offers its guests a private section of this magnificent beach, equipped with shaded areas and sun loungers, to allow you to fully enjoy a holiday between sea and nature.

Accomodation

At Jacaranda Beach Resort, there are many accommodation options: from Classic rooms to the most exclusive Beach Rooms, to Family Rooms and apartments, suitable for up to four adults or families. The rooms are large and tastefully furnished, between local artisanal tradition and a contemporary ethnic-minimalist style. 

The Classic Rooms are located in two-story Arab-style buildings, harmoniously immersed in the tropical garden, and all have a private veranda or balcony.

The Beach Garden Rooms, mostly renovated in the summer of 2023, occupy prime locations within the Resort: some overlook the second pool, others are located directly on the beach.

The Beach Ocean Rooms are the flagship of the offering. Completed in autumn 2023 with modern and high-quality materials, they overlook the beach offering spectacular front views of the ocean.

All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and a paddle fan, a large bathroom with shower and hairdryer, Lamu-style king or French beds with mosquito nets, or beds made of niru (a special blend of concrete and colored sands). Completing the comfort safety box, furnished veranda or balcony and mini fridge stocked daily with free mineral water.

Restaurants

Kuku Restaurant enjoys a prime location, with large windows overlooking the ocean. It offers buffet service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering a balance between international cuisine, regional Italian dishes (including show cooking with the pasta of the day prepared on sight), and local cuisine, to which a special evening is dedicated each week. Chefs prefer simple preparations to enhance the freshness of their products, strictly at zero km, including fish, meats, poultry and vegetables. Bar Livingstone, located in front of the main pool and inside the Resort's large lounge, offers a variety of relaxation opportunities, both indoors and outdoors, with cocktails, espresso, or afternoon tea. The Beach Bar offers soft drinks, juices and fresh fruit just steps from the beach loungers. For romantic moments or for those who want to enjoy the best of Indian Ocean products in an exclusive location, the Resort offers special menus by reservation for dining on the beach or in the pool gazebo, with lobsters, prawns, fish, seafood and meats. First courses are always made with fresh homemade pasta. Full Board with drinks at meals includes: welcome cocktail; breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet with soft drinks served by the glass; tea time at 5:00 PM with coffee, Kenyan tea, and pastries; late breakfasts from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Main Bar; fruit snacks at the Beach Bar; and aperitif snacks before lunch and dinner water dispenser by the glass available in the two bars from 10 am to midnight; daily replenishment in the room of a 500 ml bottle of mineral water per guest. The All Inclusive supplement costs €25 per person per night and includes beer during meals, local alcohol, beer, and soft drinks from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.The Beach Ocean package includes a free basket of fruit and flowers upon arrival, as well as a daily refill in the mini fridge with two 500ml bottles of water, one Fanta, one Sprite and two Coca Cola.

Facilities and Services

At Jacaranda Beach Resort, amenities are designed to ensure maximum comfort, relaxation and fun for all guests.

The “Pure Spa” is the flagship of the Resort, the ideal place to regenerate with a single or couples massage after a day at the beach or returning from a safari, or to take care of your face and hair.

In addition, the Resort offers numerous other services: boutiques and souvenirs, market, massages, hairdresser, manicure, safari and excursion office, taxi service, 24-hour reception and concierge, gym, conference & meeting rooms for up to 120 people, laundry service and library.

Sport

Jacaranda Beach Resort covers 32,000 sqm and 120 linear metres of beachfront, offering guests the chance to enjoy their holiday not only on the beach, but also in the large and well-equipped common areas.

The Resort has three swimming pools for a total of 2,000 sqm, beach volleyball courts, gym and areas for games such as table tennis, foosball and billiards.

Inside the facility, an international team of experts manages Turtle Dive, a water sports center offering windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboating, and diving equipment.

Children aged 8 and up will enjoy a pool play program, while adults will enjoy diving outings and courses, from Open Water to Dive Master.

Entertainment

The Jacaranda's entertainment team is made up exclusively of local young people, who offer guests daytime activities including sports, games and tournaments, as well as moments of discovery of Swahili culture, with language courses and local cuisine lessons taught by the Resort's “master chefs”. In the evening, they offer classic games and small cabaret shows in a multilingual environment. The most popular group activities are water aerobics and beach volleyball, but bocce tournaments and other recreational activities are also organized on the beach. All activities are optional, and the team's discretion ensures maximum respect for each guest's pace. The real spectacle, however, is represented by the people and nature of Kenya. Jacaranda thus offers guests a taste of the local culture through weekly events, including the acrobatic dances of the Maasai Warriors/Shepherds and the traditional songs and dances of the Giriama, the coastal tribe. Each group tells its own story, sets up a market and involves those who wish in the dances, offering an authentic opportunity for contact with Africa.
