About the destination

Sestriere is located in the heart of one of the largest ski areas in Europe, known as Vialattea.Sestriere is also one of the few places where it is possible to ski at night on an illuminated Olympic track. The station regularly hosts Alpine Ski World Cup events even though the most prestigious moment was when it was chosen to host male Alpine Skiing competitions at the 2006 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Turin 2006 and home to one of the three Olympic Villages. The two (red and white) towers that dominate the skyline have become the symbol of the country; were built in 1930 by the founder of FIAT, Giovanni Agnelli, with the aim of providing a vacation spot for workers at the FIAT plant in Turin.
