Tonnara di Bonagia Italy

The Tonnara di Bonagia overlooks a tiny port. Despite the substantial changes it underwent, it managed nevertheless to maintain its original appearance of baglio, with an imposing sixteenth-century tower and a large central courtyard, inside which there were various buildings and a small church. The elevated apartments were those of the rais, aligned to the left of the entrance to the crews and those of the baglio farmers on the opposite side. In the 80s, the tonnara was sold to a company that, with internal and external changes made to the original construction, transforms the building into a hotel and residence, with a courtyard full of shops.
